Before you can download ringtones you’ll have to choose your model of phone. Once you’ve done that you’ll be taken to the list of ringtones that will work for your phone. Browse by Virgin Selects, Top Downloads and choose the type of ringtone you’d like from a drop down menu: songs, animations, polyphonic tones and voices and sound effects. You’ll pay anywhere from $2.00 for an "oddtone" to $2.50 for a real music clip.

Quit the Contract

Who says you can’t have it all without the messy cellphone plan? Virgin Mobile leads the pack of those cellphone providers that have ditched the mumbo jumbo of the cellphone contract in favor of a pay-as-you-go or prepaid plan. The company further proves their mettle when they offer pre-paid in combination with the latest phones and tricks.

Virgin sells not only its services, but it markets to customers with a hip aloofness, those unimpressed with confusing contracts, those that would rather Top Up their account to buy more time, handle money up front in exchange for exactly what they pay for. In fact the J.D. Power Company recently awarded Virgin Mobile the award for most outstanding service in their category, based on surveys of pre-paid mobile customers.

How it Works

Customers interested in the pre-paid plan with Virgin first must buy a Virgin Mobile cellphone. Then you buy an appropriate plan by the month or by the minute. Monthly pre-paid range from the cheapest, $14.99 for 100 minutes without any nights and weekends. Most expensive monthly plans cost $99.99 and get you 1000 anytime minutes with unlimited nights and weekends. Be careful, though, the additional charge per minute you go over your account limit is 25 cents.

International Options

While many cellphone companies do not bundle international calls with your cell plan, Virgin Mobile gives you access to affordable international rates. Subscribers may activate or de-active the international option simply by dialing a number into their phone. Access cost-per-minute information for countries as well as the country code, which you’ll need in order to make a call. Want to text someone outside the U.S.? For just about 20 cents you can make a text to an international contact.

Cellphones

Phones come in flip and razor styles with Virgin’s Superphonic ringtones already bundled in as well as a couple of models with MP3 and other advanced multimedia capabilities.
